Product Review: Florapy Clear Complexion Sheet Mask
I have never been the type that's really into beauty and skincare. I usually just use face wash and a moisturizer and call it a day. However, I've noticed I'm starting to have discoloration on my face. I've always had dark spots but now it's gotten worse. My skin not only has acne spots but it's becoming blotchy. So, I'm digging into products that can clear up the nasties on my face. The first product I'm giving a shot is Florapy's Clear Complexion Face Mask. I found it for $8 in Blue Mercury, which just opened on Clark St. in River North. Serving both as a form of aroma therapy and a skin treatment, this sheet was everything I needed.
The thing I like about this sheet mask is that it includes what they call "Recovery Essence 8", which is a mix of these 8 essentials in the mask to rejeuvenate your skin and help you relax: vervain flower, grapeseed oil, olive oil, clary sage oil, carrot oil, almond oil, rosehip and vitamin E. These mixed with the dandelion for antioxidants and lemongrass for breakouts gave it a naturally refreshing smell that wasn't too overwhelming.
Opening the package was easy. However, I had an airhead moment and thought one of the protective sheets was the actual mask. Besides my slight moment of stupidity, opening and applying the sheet was fairly smooth. You just have to be careful not to rip it. It isn't thin but still has slits so you can adjust it accordingly, which is great. This just means it can tear if you're not careful.
After placing the oil and vitamin infused sheet on your faee, you're supposed to relax and breathe in the aroma for 15-20 minutes. However, I kept it on for 30 so I can soak up extra oils. Plus it was super relaxing. Knowing that I was inhaling natural fragrances that were helping my skin was refreshing. The aroma definitely put me at ease and let me clear my mind. After awhile, I could feel my pores opening and my face began to have that tingling but satisfying minty feel. I was in heaven!
After my longer than instructed time with the sheet mask, I finally took it off and my face felt amazing! It felt fresh, rejuvenated and had a natural shine to it, partly because it still had oils on it(you're not supposed to wash your face afer a sheet mask).
I didn't see immediate results with my complexion but who would expect them? This was my first try and I'm sure it takes time. They say the aromatherapy "empowers confidence, boosts self-esteem, and promotes inner peace". It might be because I was feelng excited to be working toward bettering my skin, but I found this to be true. So, I will definitely be purchasing another Florapy mask. They have a variety of them, each serving a different purpose based on your needs. Overall, it was a relaxing and satisfying experience and I'm thrilled to try my next one!
